Alexis Rios Vegas

March 30, 1952 — February 5, 2023

It is truly impactful when a man of Christian faith, a man devoted to his values, a man that put his family first before his own needs, a man that showed humbleness, a man that showed intelligence and curiosity, a husband, a father, a person that impacted and made the difference in the life of his beloved ones. Is no longer with us.

Alexis Arbenio Rios Vegas, age 70, died from prostate cancer in his sister’s home in Denver on February 5th, 2023. He was a Cost Control and Project Management Engineer passionate about electronics, calculators, Chess, and most importantly running. He spent most of his active life running races of many miles and loving God. During his life he encouraged his close ones to live a life with purpose, a life following God and doing things right even though they were hard to do or admit.

His curiosity for improvement on his career and his personal development took him to travel to many countries, where he could share the fruits of his labor and help his family as much as he could. Alexis had many goals while he was alive. One of them, was to bring his son, Alexander, to the United States so he could have a brighter future. His son and his sister helped him since the first day his was diagnosed with cancer. As a man of faith, he installed core values and shared his graceful personality with his peers, his family and with everyone he could get in touch with even when the odds not were on his favor. Maria Regina, his wife was alongside with him showing unconditional love since they were married, physically and remotely. Sadly, she couldn’t be with him when he took his last breath due to the difficulties of immigration affairs.

Today we celebrate the life of Alexis as his legacy will live in our hearts and he will always be with us. He is not longer suffering, he is rejoicing and resting in a better place. Funeral services will take place on February 21st of 2023, at 10:30am. The address of the funeral is on 3020 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80211. The Burial will take place the same day at 1:30pm, the location of the cemetery is on 5581 Independence St, Arvada, CO 80002. Friends and family are more than welcome to assist to both venues.

One of his favorite verses of the Bible is: “Those who HOPE in the LORD will renew their strength; they will SOAR on wings like Eagles.” ISAIAH 40:31
