Obituary

William Maurice “Bill” Hardy, age 88, passed away on May 16, 2026. Born on March 27, 1938, Bill’s passing has left a tremendous hole in the hearts of those who loved him, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Bill was truly one of a kind — a fun-loving man with a wild personality, a quick sense of humor, and a gift for making people laugh. He never met a stranger he couldn’t strike up a conversation with and was always ready to tell a joke to anyone willing to listen. His presence could fill a room, and the memories he created with family and friends will never be forgotten.

Bill proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Navy, receiving honorable discharges for his service. Following his military years, he dedicated many years of hard work to the United States Postal Service, where he worked nights sorting mail until his retirement.

Bill was also a member of his church and a passionate sports fan. He especially loved the Green Bay Packers — you could almost always find him proudly wearing their colors or gear. He also enjoyed following many other sports. If a game was on while he was busy, he would often record it to watch later at home, carefully following along and even taking notes during the games.

Outside of work & sports, Bill loved music and dancing. Whether it was the Twist, the Mashed Potato, the Polka, or just about any dance you could name, he was always ready to get out on the dance floor and have a good time. His laughter, energy, and love for life were contagious.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Connie; and his son, Charles.

He is survived by his son, Kelvin; daughter, Louise; his brother, David; and sister, Jane. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Justine, Jolene and her husband, Chuckie; Donna and her husband, Gabriel; John; and Branden. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Jalene, Michael, Gabriel, Charles, Isabella, Anahi, and Anthony, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing Bill lived life fully, brought joy to so many people, and left behind countless memories filled with laughter and love.

Rest easy, Grandpa Bill. You will forever be missed.

“May you forever be where the music never ends, the dance floor is always full, and the games are always on.”
