Cleofos Benjamin Romero, age 81, went to his eternal home on February 11, 2024. He was born and raised in Denver, CO and graduated from Annunciation Catholic High School in Denver Colorado. He joined the United States Army in 1962 at the age of twenty and was stationed in Germany. After leaving military service he attended Regis University.
He retired from United Airlines after 34 years of service. He enjoyed playing chess, viewing sports such as football, baseball, and golf. He also enjoyed putting puzzles together at Highland Senior Citizen Center and spending time developing friendships with his neighbors. Additionally, he donated to several local, national and international charities.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews: Sharon Sandoval, Janice Johnson, Reuben Romero, Deana Gallegos, Ben Gallegos, Dorothy Romero, Floyd Zamora, Sandra Stewart, Renee McComb, Rhonda Romero, Claudia Wayn, Louie Nabarrete, and Douglas Avila. Also survived by great, great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings.
Tuesday, March 12th - A viewing will be at 5:00 PM followed by the Rosary at 6:00 PM at Latina Funeral & Cremation at 3020 Federal Blvd followed by coffee at 3200 W. 27th Avenue.
Wednesday, March 13th - Catholic Mass will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1209 W 36th Ave, Denver, CO at 11:00 AM followed by a military burial with honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery 3698 South Sheridan Blvd, Denver at 1:00 PM. A reception to follow at Mile Hi Veterans, 1717 Federal Blvd, Denver. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Cleofos B. Romero to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
