Fermin Aragon, 97 of Denver, died February 8, 2015, at his home with his daughter Yvonne Aragon, son Robert Aragon, cousin Catherine, her husband Raynaldo of NM, and daughter-in-law Cindi Sigala by his side.

Fermin was born October 1, 1917, in Las Vegas, NM to Antonio Aragon and MariaQuintanaAragon. Fermin served in the US Navy from 1942-1945 stationed in Guam.

Fermin lived in New Mexico where his ancestors homesteaded the property where he grew up. He often spoke of his horse Nelly which he rode to and from school. His family moved to Kersey, CO when he was in his early teens, where he worked on the beet farms. They moved to Denver where he met his first wife Christina and had two children Bonnie Jean and Anthony.

He was in the Navy from 1942 until 1945. After the service, he worked at a wrecking yard where he became a mechanic. He soon met Ercelia Garcia in 1946 and they were married January 29, 1947. Their son Bobby was born November 18, 1947.

Fermin, Ercelia, Bonny Jean, Anthony and Bobby moved to San Francisco, CA in 1956 and he worked as a mechanic at a tire store. Their daughter, Yvonne was born August, 26, 1958. The family moved back to Denver, Colorado in 1960.

Fermin continued working as a mechanic in Denver six days a week and on Sunday's worked on family member's vehicles. He worked at Gates Rubber, Uniroyal Tire, and Rickenbaugh Cadillac. He also worked for a tire store in San Francisco, California while they were living in California. Fermin retired from United Tire in the late 1980's.

Fermin enjoyed working on cars and telling jokes. His laughter and smile were contagious. He and his wife Ercelia loved to go dancing on Saturday nights with family members.

Fermin is survived by his brother Manuel Isabel Aragon of Green Mountain, Colorado; children Bonnie Jean Frank Maes of Denver, Colorado; son Robert Linda Aragon of Keensburg, Colorado; daughter Yvonne Cindi Sigala Aragon of Denver, Colorado; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren plus several nieces and nephews.

Fermin is preceded in death by his parents Anthonio and Mary Aragon, his wife Ercelia Aragon, son Anthony Aragon, three brothers, Joe, Ben, and Simon Aragon, two sisters Cleo Gonzales and Dolores Ulibarri, and granddaughter Lori Ann Aragon.

For family and friends a Vistation will be held 5 PM, Monday, February 16, 2015, at Funeraria Latina Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Boulevard, followed by the Rosary at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at 10AM at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4200 Federal Blvd. Burial at Ft. Logan National Cemetery Staging Area C is at 12:15PM. The Reception will follow at the VFW Post 9644, 2680 West Hampden Avenue, Englewood, Colorado. 3 blocks East of Federal Boulevard on old Hampden Avenue.
