Obituary

With unimaginable sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Joey Gabriel Romero, who left this world on June 28, 2026, at just 18 years old.

Although Joey’s life was far too short, he lived it with determination, ambition, and a heart full of love. He believed that anything worth having was worth working for, and he set his heart and mind on accomplishing the goals he dreamed of.

One of Joey’s proudest accomplishments was graduating from high school and experiencing the unforgettable moment of walking across the stage in his cap and gown to receive his diploma. He worked hard to purchase his very own BMW, something he was incredibly proud of, and he was excited for the opportunity to learn the construction trade and begin building a bright future for himself.

Joey cherished the people in his life. His friends were never just friends—they were his brothers and sisters, connected not by blood but by love, loyalty, and countless memories. He loved spending time with them, playing video games, and simply enjoying life together.

Anyone who knew Joey knew his laugh. It was genuine, loud, and wonderfully contagious. His smile could brighten a room, and his laughter had a way of making everyone around him laugh too. He found joy in the little moments and had a gift for making others feel included and loved.

Above all else, Joey loved his family. Whether spending time together at home, celebrating special occasions, or simply enjoying each other’s company, those moments meant the world to him. His love, kindness, determination, and unforgettable spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Joey is lovingly survived by his father, Joey; his mother, Natalia; his brother, Chris; and his sister, Zuri. He is also survived by his stepmother, Essy, and his stepfather, Paul.

He leaves behind his paternal grandparents, Cary and Elizabeth, and his maternal grandparents, Colleen and Sonny.

Joey is also survived by his aunt on his father’s side, Beverly, and his aunts and uncle on his mother’s side, Sheela, Nick and Kim.

He will be deeply missed by his cousins on his father’s side, Destiny and Joseph, and on his mother’s side, Nicholas, Lexy, Colson, Xavier, Isaiah, Aveyah, Aidan, Andrew, and Ashton, as well as many other beloved relatives and countless friends who loved him like family.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are forever grateful for the 18 years we were blessed to share with him. While we wish for just one more laugh, one more hug, and one more conversation, we find comfort in knowing that the love Joey gave will never fade. His memory will live on in every story shared, every smile inspired by his laughter, and every heart he touched.

A Message from Mom and Dad

Joey,

From the moment you came into our lives, you changed our hearts forever. Watching you grow into the young man you became was one of the greatest blessings of our lives. We are so proud of everything you accomplished, the dreams you chased, and the love you shared with everyone around you.

There are no words to express how deeply you are missed or how much we wish we had more time with you. We will miss your smile, your contagious laugh, your hugs, your jokes, and the way you could make an ordinary day feel special simply by being there.

Thank you for allowing us the privilege of being your mom and dad. We promise to honor your memory by speaking your name often, sharing your stories, and carrying your love with us in everything we do.

Until the day we are together again, know that you will always be our son, our pride, and a part of us that nothing—not even death—can ever take away.

We love you beyond words, beyond time, and beyond this life.

Forever and always,

Mom & Dad
