Joseph Richard Lopez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 57 in Denver, Colorado.
Known to everyone as Joe, he was a down-to-earth man who had a gift for lighting up any room he walked into. Full of love and always ready to make anyone laugh, Joe had a way of making everyone around him feel welcome and at ease. He was the kind of person you never forgot.
Joe was a man of God in the truest sense—wherever he went, he spread the word of God, touching the lives of those around him with his faith and love. Above all else, Joe was a family man. His family was his world, his greatest pride, and his deepest joy. Everything he did, he did for the people he loved. A devoted Catholic, Joe's faith was not just something he practiced—it was something he lived and shared every single day.
Joe was a natural athlete who carried his competitive spirit throughout his life. He grew up boxing, a sport he took tremendous pride in, and had a deep love for football as well. That drive, discipline, and passion for the game were a reflection of the man he was in everything he did.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Janessa Lopez; his children, Elishia West, Joseph West, Desserae West, Louiesa West, Monique West, Destiny West, Shantel West, and Jasiah Lopez; 20 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Reyna Lopez, Michelle Vigil, Matthew Archuleta, Tobias Lopez, and Dominic Montoya; and his beloved dog, Baby Lopez, who brought joy and companionship to the family.
He is reunited in eternal rest with his parents, Susanna Archuleta and Jose Antonio Lopez; his beloved son, Joesiahs Prince Lopez; and several cousins who preceded him in death.
Joe may be gone, but his laughter, his love, and the light of his faith will live on in every person he touched.
