Marilyn S. Sanchez

Marilyn Susan Sanchez, 71, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from complications following minor surgery.

She is survived by her devoted children: her son, Anthony Atencio, and his wife, Anika Atencio, and her daughter, Francesca Sanchez. Marilyn was a cherished grandmother to Anthony Atencio Jr., Aysiah Atencio, Annessa Acevedo, and Kai Sanchez.

Marilyn also leaves behind her loving siblings: Dolores “Marylou” Folkenroth, Silvano “Eugene” Atencio, and Jeannette Romero. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

She is reunited in glory with those who preceded her in death: her father, Silvano Atencio; her mother, Angela Atencio; her sister, Genevieve Barron; and her brother, Joseph Atencio.

Marilyn will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the deep love she had for her family.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Crossroads Church of Denver, located at 3010 Newland Street in Wheat Ridge.

Interment will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Golden Cemetery. A reception will be held back at Crossroads Church of Denver following the interment.
