Rosa Isela Lechuga Gonzalez, conocida cariñosamente como “Chachela” y, con aún más cariño, como “Buela” por sus nietos, falleció el 17 de agosto de 2026, a pocos días de cumplir 68 años.

Rosa nació el 23 de agosto de 1958 en el municipio de Cusihuiriachi, Chihuahua, México, hija de Luz Gonzalez y Raúl Lechuga. Sus raíces chihuahuenses fueron una parte importante de quien ella era y permanecieron siempre cerca de su corazón.

Rosa compartió 40 años de matrimonio con su esposo, Pedro Guevara Mercado. Juntos formaron una familia y construyeron una vida llena de recuerdos que continuarán vivos a través de las generaciones.

Fue la amorosa madre de Glen Gabriel “Gabi”, Luz Graciela “Lucy” y Rosa Isela “Tita”.

Rosa fue una mujer fuerte, trabajadora y creativa. Emprendedora y talentosa repostera, dedicó muchos años a crear hermosos pasteles para bodas, quinceañeras, cumpleaños e innumerables celebraciones. Su creatividad iba más allá de la repostería. Le encantaban las manualidades y disfrutaba crear cosas con sus propias manos.

Su hogar era un lugar del que nadie se iba con hambre. Si visitabas a Rosa, ella se aseguraba de darte de comer. Cocinar era una de las muchas maneras en las que demostraba su amor y cuidaba a quienes la rodeaban. También le encantaba la jardinería y disfrutaba pasar tiempo leyendo su Biblia.

Rosa estuvo profundamente arraigada en su fe católica, la cual fue una parte importante de su vida y de los valores que siempre llevó consigo.

Uno de los mayores legados de Rosa fue su familia. Fue una orgullosa Buela de Jacqueline Lechuga, Lorenzo Lechuga, Bianca Lechuga, Isaiah Guevara-Ennis, Xion’Ahna Ellidridge, Analicia Strother y Alicia Isela Guevara Lechuga, y una amorosa bisabuela de Manolo Lopez Guevara.

Rosa deja a su esposo, hijos, nietos, bisnieto, hermanos, familiares y muchos seres queridos cuyas vidas tocó.

Su familia se reunirá para celebrar su vida el miércoles 26 de agosto de 2026. Honrando sus raíces y los deseos de su familia, Rosa regresará a su hogar en Chihuahua, México, donde será sepultada en el municipio de Cusihuiriachi.

La vida de Rosa continuará a través de la familia que formó, las tradiciones que transmitió, las cosas hermosas que creó con sus propias manos, los alimentos que con tanto amor ofreció a quienes entraban en su hogar y la fe que llevó consigo durante toda su vida.

Aunque será profundamente extrañada, el amor que brindó y los recuerdos que creó permanecerán con su familia por muchas generaciones.

Rosa Isela Lechuga Gonzalez, lovingly known as “Chachela” and most lovingly as “Buela” to her grandchildren, passed away on August 17, 2026, just days before her 68th birthday.

Rosa was born on August 23, 1958, in Cusihuiriachi Municipality, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Luz Gonzalez and Raúl Lechuga. Her roots in Chihuahua were an important part of who she was and remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Rosa shared 40 years of marriage with her husband, Pedro Guevara Mercado. Together, they built a family and a life filled with memories that will continue through the generations that follow them.

She was the loving mother of Glen Gabriel “Gabi,” Luz Graciela “Lucy,” and Rosa Isela “Tita.”

Rosa was a strong, hardworking, and creative woman. An entrepreneur and talented baker, she spent years creating beautiful cakes for weddings, quinceañeras, birthdays, and countless other celebrations. Her creativity extended beyond baking. She loved arts and crafts and enjoyed creating things with her own hands.

Her home was a place where you did not leave hungry. If you came to visit Rosa, she was going to feed you. Cooking was one of the many ways she showed her love and cared for the people around her. She also loved gardening and enjoyed spending time reading her Bible.

Rosa was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, which remained an important part of her life and the values she carried with her.

One of Rosa’s greatest legacies was her family. She was a proud Buela to Jacqueline Lechuga, Lorenzo Lechuga, Bianca Lechuga, Isaiah Guevara-Ennis, Xion’Ahna Ellidridge, Analicia Strother, and Alicia Isela Guevara Lechuga, and a loving great-grandmother to Manolo Lopez Guevara.

Rosa leaves behind her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandson, siblings, extended family, and many loved ones whose lives she touched.

Her family will gather to celebrate her life on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. In keeping with her roots and her family’s wishes, Rosa will return home to Chihuahua, Mexico, where she will be laid to rest in Cusihuiriachi Municipality.

Rosa’s life will continue through the family she built, the traditions she passed down, the beautiful things she created with her hands, the meals she lovingly placed before those who entered her home, and the faith she carried throughout her life.

Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain with her family for generations to come.

May she rest in eternal peace.
