Jamy Mccullum

August 8, 1972 — March 11, 2023

Jamy LaShawn McCullum, beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the age of 50.  Jamy is preceded in death by his father James Thomas Neely and his mother-in-law Rita D. Roldan. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Amparo McCullum and his daughters Ashley Quackenbush (Sam) and Sydney McCullum, his mother Cheryl L. Clay (Lynn), father-in-law David V. Roldan, his grandmother Patricia Duncan, siblings James Neely Jr., Fred Carter, Freeman Carter, Stacy LaVon Neely, Marcos Roldan (Christina), Roman McCray, Latanya Neely, Helen Segal, Paris Turner, and Patrice Montgomery, aunts Ferba Lofton, Karen Tureaud and Audrey Duncan and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jamy was born on August 8, 1972, to Cheryl and James Neely.  He attended Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, CO and went on to Metro State College in Denver. where he studied culinary and hospitality. Jamy was a chef by trade and took pride in owing his catering company.  Jamy ran and coached a PAL team in North Denver for many years. He loved fishing, playing golf with his friends, and listing to his old school jamz.

Jamy loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.  Those who knew Jamy knew he had a big heart. His smile, laughter, silly personality, and huge presence will be missed by all that knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 21, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Latina Funeral and Cremations 3020 Federal Boulevard, Denver, CO 80211.

There will be a reception at Wheat Ridge Recreation Center, 4005 Kipling Street, Wheat Ridge, CO following the services 1:00pm-3:00pm.
