Jose Rodriguez Flores

Thank you, god, for the life of Jose R. Flores Sr. He was born on January 25th, 1944 in the small town of McMahan, Texas to Miguel and Maria Flores. And oh the mischief he has caused since then :) He will be missed immensely by his wife of 42 years and partner of 50: Margarita, his daughters: Maria (Joe), Theresa, and Katherine, son: Jose Jr. (Victoria) granddaughters: Shuray (Brian), and Isabella, his Brothers: Fidel (Ellen), Paul (Barbara), Robert (Jaysue), Mike (Becky), Jim (Jackie), Frank, his sisters: Chris (Eddie), Janie(Dave), Anita (Paul), Margaret(Raul), and Eva (Kevin), numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Anyone who met Joe became a friend. He loved people and genuine conversation. He loved to make people laugh with his jokes and dance moves. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970. He then met his loving wife Margarita while having lunch one day in Denver shortly after discharge. She was his waitress and his first words to her were, “I think I love you.” That love kept them together through the good times and bad. Joe was a hard working man who worked for the postal service as a mail handler for over 30 years. He enjoyed fixing things, maintaining his lawn, spending time with his chihuahuas, eating good food: especially Texas chorizo and “checking for leaks” as he called his time for naps. He showed his love through his sense of humor. If he had a nickname for you, you know you were special to him. We will miss his joyful spirit, spunk, and warmth but know he is now resting peacefully in the arms of our savior Jesus Christ and embraced by those who have preceded him in death: his mom and dad Maria and Miguel, grandparents, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
