Some of the big things you’ll need to decide are:

    • Whether you’d prefer burial or cremation.
    • What type of funeral service you’d prefer, such as a traditional Catholic funeral, a private viewing followed by cremation, cremation with a memorial service, a celebration of life ceremony, etc.
    • Where you would like your body to be buried or your ashes to be scattered or interred.

You will also need to provide some basic information to the funeral home so they can prepare your documents. This may include papeles de inmigración, veteran’s discharge papers and military service records, social security records, and the names of at least two emergency contacts you wish to handle your affairs. • Can I change my preplanned arrangements later?

We understand that circumstances can change as families grow and life goes on. If you’ve changed your mind about los detalles de your funeral, let us know. We may be able to modify your plan to accommodate your wishes. However, know that in some cases, changing the plan may affect the pricing or alter the terms of the original contract. We’re happy to answer questions about your specific plan if there is something you’d like to update.

  • Will life insurance pay for my funeral?

Many people assume their life insurance policies will pay for the cost of their funeral. However, life insurance claims take time to process. Depending on the circumstances, it may be a month or more before your beneficiary receives payment. This means that families are often forced to borrow money to cover funeral expenses and wait to be reimbursed by the insurance company. Prepaying for your funeral allows you to protect your family from this stress while leaving any life insurance benefits to cover other important costs after you’re gone.

  • Can my family come with me to the preplanning appointment?
